Web 2.0

I thought that being the end of another month would be a good time to post a quick update on my JV with Monika Mundell of The Writers Manifesto fame and our already thriving social networking site Blogging Web 2.0.

We’ve both been busy posting a huge amount of content to the blog and have already attracted a few sign-ups and made some money (ok, a few dollars but it all counts) from advertising and affiliate links. We’ve had some visits from one or two high profile bloggers who have poked their heads round the door to see what we’re up to. I’m sure they’ll be back soon to see how we’re progressing – very well thanks!

The main reason for this post is to hopefully tempts some of you to call in over there and write a guest post for us. You’ll get a valuable one-way inbound link back to your site and plenty of extra exposure.

My last post (today) has already pulled in 478 viewers – no mean feat for a blog not yet a month old!

So you can see we’re promoting it hard and the viewers are coming to see what the fuss is all about – they’re liking what they’re seeing and coming back for more. So if you want a piece of that pie, click on over there (after you’ve finished reading this blog, of course!) and write a guest post for us.

Monika Mundell from The Writers Manifesto and I have joined forces to create a new “Open House” social networking site and blog.

The idea is that it will literally be an open house to all bloggers who would like to post their own ramblings there and score a free and valuable one-way back-link to their own site. We’re doing this as a joint venture because the administration of a site like this will be too much for one person to handle once the snowball starts rolling down that hill – and believe me, it will start rolling. And some!

The introductory welcome post lays down the law as to what is acceptable and what is not – obviously we don’t want any of the anti-social garbage that litters the internet in the form of porn, spam etc. You know the kind of thing by now.

What we would like is to hear from bloggers with a keen interest in online business, internet marketing, making money online, working from home – that sort of theme to post original and unique articles about what they’re passionate about and link back to their own blog or site from their post. That way, they spread the word about their site, their writing skills and themselves (most important in this age of social networking) and others who visit the site to post their own will get to know more great bloggers from their quality work.

We’ll be working on ways to make it even more worth your while posting on our site with periodic competitions with real prizes of value. That’s in the pipeline, so we’re not giving out too much info on that just yet!

So if you want to get in on this new social networking site from the very beginning, please fee free to go over, register for free and post a great example of your work for all to see!
