I’m following on from my post entitled: How Can You Get Your Site To PR6 Fast?, where I explained that you can buy what are essentially second-hand domains that are set to expire and save yourself a lot of work in building them up as they are already aged.
It’s interesting as well as addictive to watch the domain auctions and get involved yourself. I’ve been pretty active since that last post where I’d managed to get my hands on a PR6 domain. Well, I also got a PR0 domain that had a usefully long life (five years) and a nice name for the dreaded make money niche (where very few people actually make money!) called Make Money Hints. I liked the name and its age means that it will grow in the SERPs much more quickly than a new domain. I’m just getting it off the ground as a Wordpress blog – it should start attracting some PR at the next Google update and then it’s off to do battle with all the competition!
On a calmer note, I’ve also been collecting high PR sites in different niches in order to get a good foothold in them. I already have a small army of free Blogger blogs occupying the niches I’m now targeting with the big gun PR6 sites that I’ve acquired, so they will provide some useful links to the free blogs to push them up in the SERPs.
It’s all an interesting challenge and a lot of hard work, which is why my frequency of posts has slowed down a bit. Onwards and upwards, I say!

Hi Terry,
I found your site through Grizzly’s make money online and I find your sharing of buying pre-owned domain very useful.
I am new to this and found 2 domains of interest. Nothing fancy in their url (not generic) but it’s their other factors that attracted me. Would like your advice, if it’s a toss up between the 2 site, which would you choose?
Site A
Has around 16plus inlinks with one from a PR6 authority site. Inlink not likely to be removed in near future. Age of domain 5years. This domain has a clean past, used for business/organisation purpose. Has a current PR of 3
Site B
Was used as a fan site for a celebrity and has been around for 5years. Has over 100plus inlinks. Several inlinks ranking PR 3 and 4. Has a current PR of 4
If I am using the site for entertainment news, which would be more appropriate? Would the nature of the inlinks be relevant?

Hey RP,
Sorry I didn’t see your comment – its buried in this old post!
As for those domains, this might be old advice, but I’d buy both of them as they sound very nice indeed! Use the lower PR site to promote the higher PR site as well as use outsode links to promote both sites and you’ll have a shot of having two sites dominating the SERPs for the same keywords, which will get you more traffic.
