Backlink Issue

Postby Scooter » Mon Nov 22, 2010 8:12 pm

I found the following source at the end of a backlink from a site that is supposed to be reciprocating a backlink with one of my sites (pageaction=jumplink&link_id=1258) Essentially, my site is getting no credit for this "masked" backlink and I'm very curious to know exactly what the hell is going on????

I've had that happen before. Usually if you tell them you want a direct link they will change it. If not then delete their link and move on.

Thanks Phillip and Trent.

Do you have any idea as to the nature of this sort of "link masking"? I mean, how do they do this sort of thing?
Just very curious...

I don't know how to do it but I would guess it's not very difficult to do, especially for people with those sorts of skills. There's probably even plugins and other tools that do it for you.

I suppose the reason they do it is so they can get a one way link from their link "partners" while appearing to give one back.
